Come with us on a tour of the northern coastal region of Peru, home of the exquisite Piura White, Great White, Salitral, Chulucanas, and other fine-flavour Piura cacaos—a stunning landscape of rare forests and unique climates nestled between the Andes mountains and the arid desert coast.

What will we be doing?

• Visiting award winning co-ops (Norandino, APROCAP) and farms where you’ll taste fresh cacao and see some of the rarest cacao genetics in the world, all while getting a chance to talk and connect with cacao producers.

• Taking guided tours of local Piura award-winning small-batch chocolate makers: Magia Piura, Korin Chocolate, Chocoazú.

• Multiple chocolate tastings.

• A night in the rare wet forest of Canchaque, where we’ll have a night with hot chocolate under the stars and a gourmet breakfast with a specialty coffee tasting.

• Visiting Peroles de Mishahuaca, natural-forming pools in slide-like rock formations where you’ll have the option for a nice swim and take in the picturesque vista from the Mirador Cerro Huayanay lookout.

• Partaking in a cacao ceremony on the gorgeous beaches of Mancora.

• Taking a culinary class of a Peruvian specialty dish from a professional chef.

• Visiting the Cacao Life manufacturing plant and enjoying a gourmet catered lunch in its farmyard.

• Attending a day at the world-famous “Salon del Cacao y Chocolate” fair, where you’ll experience the world of craft chocolate makers coming together with cacao producers and live entertainment.

This is not a typical tour into the cacao regions and jungles of Peru. Because this trip is a little more off the beaten path, where planning in advance can be trickier, itinerary is subject to change.

We are trying our very best to include absolutely everything in this package. We want you to land in Peru and worry about nothing else. Just sit back and enjoy every aspect of this experience. We will take care of everything. With that said, what is not included in the costs of this package are: flights from your respective country to/from Lima; travellers insurance; alcoholic beverages; gratuities for meals, drivers, and tour guides.

• Trekking to Gocta, the 3rd largest free-leaping waterfall in the world.
